Cox Farms

Our favorite Fall festival is Cox Farms, and we finally made it there on Wednesday.

Tulip Festival and Animal Park

We had nice weather again on Saturday so we headed out to Burnside Farms to see their tulip field.  We picked a nice bouquet of unique colors and shapes, and were careful to pull the bulbs as well.  We'll try to plant them in the yard and hope they come up again next year.











Mia was not very interested in the flowers but she loves trying on all of the traditional wooden clogs.

After our tulip adventure, we stopped at the Leesburg Animal Park on the way home.  Ian liked feeding and petting the animals, but Mia wasn't too sure about any of it.  She stuck close to her Daddy.








We ended the day with the pirate ship playground and bounce house.

Decking the Halls

We've been busy getting ready for Christmas!

Last weekend we went to a tree farm to find the perfect tree.  Ian helped Daddy cut it down and drag it to the barn.

Yesterday it was 70 degrees so we headed out to the Winter Walk of Lights at Meadowlark Gardens. Mia rode in the stroller and pointed at all the colors and shapes.  Ian led the way down the path of lights and stopped for a few photos at his favorite spots.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday with Grandma and Grandpa Hansroth.  Ian had a great time!

First he got his face painted with a scary spider.


Then he put on his "partner hat" (because cowboys say howdy partner) and went on a pony ride.


We even took a hayride out to the pumpkin patch.

Corn Maze 2012

With one exception, we've visited the Corn Maze in The Plains every October for the last six years!  This year Ian really enjoyed the corn maze, running the whole way through.

Cox Farms Fall Festival

Every year we look forward to the Fall Festival at Cox Farms.  Ian loves the slides and their kettle corn is the best around.  Ian had a big day yesterday with swim class and a trip to the Leesburg Air Show with his Dad (he was not a fan - too loud), so he wasn't his normal cheerful self today but we still had fun.

The slides are the best part.

We also met some goats.
