Snow Day!

We got our first snow of the year yesterday, and the kids loved it!

Snowball fight!

Gotcha!

We tried sledding, and it was a hit until Ian's pants got wet and Mia got a face full of snow.  We didn't last long.

Warming up by the fire

Overnight the snow turned to ice, and we woke up to a late school opening and some beautiful wintry scenes.

Santa and Frosty shed their icy coatings when they deflated

With 5 more inches of snow expected tomorrow, we're stocking up on snow gear!

Brunch with Santa

This morning we had a special brunch with Santa at the nearby golf course restaurant.  Mia was not at all interested in sitting with Santa, but she did warm up to him after a bit.  The event also had face painting, hot chocolate with marshmallows, and a delicious buffet. We'll be going again next year!

Corn Maze

Every year we get together with friends to tackle a local corn maze.  This year's maze seemed easier than ever before, and the kids were more interested in the play area. (Thanks to Mandy and Christy for some of these photos.)

We made it!

We're missing one ...

Happy Birthday Mia!

Mia celebrated her 2nd birthday last weekend!  She had a busy day of family, presents, and cupcakes.

Grandma made her a cupcake cake in the shape of a princess gown.

Blowing out the candles

Yum!

Happy Halloween!

Our Halloween festivities started out with a parade at school.  Mia only wore the hat portion of her costume and, once she saw us, she didn't want any part of the parade either.

Ian's class was much better at parading.

Almost ready for trick-or-treating!

You can see our pumpkin carving masterpieces in the background.

Cox Farms

Our favorite Fall festival is Cox Farms, and we finally made it there on Wednesday.

The slides are the best part!

All set for the hayride

Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch

Sunday the whole family went to Jumbo's Pumpkin Patch to try and pick the perfect pumpkin.  We were a little too late in the season for the best selection, but Ian still found a good one. (Thanks to Emily for some of these photos.)

Mia took her first pony ride, and she was not at all happy about it.
