Joe was mad that this post only made it to my pregnancy blog, so I'm posting it here too. "But it was my babymoon too," he said. I don't see him complaining when my posts whine about how little progress he's made on the nursery.
This weekend we went away to Chesapeake Beach for a mini-babymoon. While the resort and the town itself left much to be desired, it was so nice to get away and relax without feeling like we should be doing something else. On Saturday we got massages, and were surprised with a spa gift certificate from Mom & Dad for our anniversary, so that was a nice treat. We spent a lot of time lounging on our balcony enjoying the view (pictured above) and did a little sight-seeing, but were disappointed at the lack of lounge chairs on the actual beach. I don't think we'll go back to Chesapeake Beach anytime soon, but it was a very nice getaway, and the last one we'll have for a while.

2nd Wedding Anniversary
We celebrated our anniversary today with a dinner of buffalo wings and french fries at the neighborhood Wing Factory. We'll be celebrating for real this weekend with a trip to the bay, complete with massages, a nice dinner, and hopefully an afternoon of delicious crabs on Kent Narrows. But for now, the buffalo wings will suffice.
We were even able to do some good in the process, as the restaurant was having a benefit event for a local family whose house burned to the ground on Mother's Day. They had auctions and face painting and raffles, and they collected all of the dinner receipts and are giving a portion of the night's proceeds to the family. The place was completely packed with kids in sports uniforms too, so we're debating whether this is just a regular Tuesday night occurence in Ashburn or if all of the people were there for the benefit event.
