Ocean City 2014

Last week was our annual trip to Ocean City.  We had great weather most days, and Ian managed to fit in 6 rounds of mini golf.

We went on some rides on the boardwalk.  Mia did not like any of them.

Ian decided he wanted a boogie board for his birthday, but then refused to ride it.  Mia got a kickboard-sized version and had a great time with hers.

See you again next year OC!

Ocean City 2013

Last week we took our annual trip to Ocean City for some sun and fun.  Ian liked the ocean much better this year, and Mia liked playing with buckets.

Ian's favorite activity was the mini golf.  He played three courses and even got a few hole-in-ones!

Of course we had french fries on the boardwalk, and Ian took his first ferris wheel ride.

On our last night at the beach, Joe and Ian flew a kite and played with glow sticks on the beach after dark. Ian was the kite launcher.

It was a great trip, we can't wait to go back next year!

St. Louis Visit

We spent a few days in St. Louis visiting the Ferners.  We arrived on Thursday and, although it wasn't quite warm enough to swim, the kids (and a few brave adults) went in the pool anyway.

Mia was quickly tired of swimming and went for the cheese balls.

More snacks Grandma!

On Friday we went to Grant's Farm.  The visit started with a train ride through the grounds to see the wild animals.

Ian fed the goats some milk.  Mia wanted nothing to do with them.

Mia practiced hopping like the kangaroo.

Hey elephant!!

Joe and Ian rode the camel.

Mia was too small to ride the camel, but she helped Uncle Tom feed one.

Friday evening it was chilly so Tim built a fire in the fire pit after the kids went to bed.  I can't remember ever being cold enough for a fire in August before.

Saturday we celebrated the August birthdays with the family, then played with glow sticks before bed.

Sunday we had a pool party with the extended family, and luckily the sun decided to warm things up a bit.  Aunt Janet set up a slip-n-slide, and it was a big hit!

Ian put on his swim shirt and did a few laps around the shallow end.

These two had so much fun they were asleep before the plane even took off!
