Jumping Jack Sports

One of Ian's play group friends had a birthday party at Jumping Jack Sports.  Ian actually liked the bouncy obstacle course (the last time we went there he was scared of it), and even Mia got to play.

Happy Father's Day!

We had a great day celebrating Dad yesterday.  In the morning we took Joe to IHOP for his favorite breakfast.  Mia even had her first taste of pancakes.

They my family came over and, in true Hansroth family tradition, we ate too much food.  Joe requested grilled kielbasa sandwiches with sauerkraut so I made those, plus baked beans and corn on the cob.  Mom made a veggie tray, sloppy joes, cole slaw, and a chocolate eclair cake.  Emily and Kevin brought two dozen jumbo crabs and they were delicious!

Can you guess which part of the meal Ian liked best?

Indoor Picnic

Joe was out late last night and I always need creative strategies to keep Ian occupied while I give Mia her bath and bedtime bottle, so we had a "picnic" in Mommy's room and watched Finding Nemo.  Ian thought it was really fun - he kept saying "I'm having a picnic!"  I think the movie was a bit scary and advanced for him, since he kept running into Mia's room asking where Nemo was.

7 Months

Mia is 7 months old!  Her "birthday" this month falls on our 5-year wedding anniversary.  We celebrated with a fancy dinner, and spent some time reminiscing about how much has changed in those 5 years.  We're very lucky to have built such a happy little family together.

At 7 months, Mia:

  • eats 4 6oz bottles a day and two servings of fruit or veggie purees.
  • sits on her own for several minutes at a time, but prefers to "travel" across the room by rolling.
  • still doesn't have any teeth, or hair.
  • is a very happy girl.

Buggy Ride

When I arrived at school today, Mia was riding around in the buggy.  She was happy and smiley as usual!
