Ocean City 2014

Last week was our annual trip to Ocean City.  We had great weather most days, and Ian managed to fit in 6 rounds of mini golf.

We went on some rides on the boardwalk.  Mia did not like any of them.

Ian decided he wanted a boogie board for his birthday, but then refused to ride it.  Mia got a kickboard-sized version and had a great time with hers.

See you again next year OC!

Happy Birthday Ian!

Ian celebrated half a decade earlier this month!  He chose to spend the morning of his birthday at school with his friends, opting for splash day and treating everyone to Dunkin' Donuts as a birthday breakfast treat.  Joe and I picked him up around lunch time and he picked Red Robin (a.k.a. Big Red Chicken) for his birthday lunch because he claims they have the best mac n' cheese around.  The waiters even sang to him and gave him an ice cream sundae!

For the afternoon, he chose to build his new Lego set with his Dad (a wise choice since Mia was at school). With 960-ish pieces, they didn't finish in one afternoon.

That evening, we celebrated as a family with cupcakes and PB&Js.

We also had a special birthday celebration for Ian at the beach, where he had a batman cake and got to pick out and fly his very own kite.

Recent Photos

I haven't been good about updating lately, but I finally pulled the recent pictures off the camera and found some good ones to share.

A few weekends ago, Mia went to a friend's birthday party.  All of the girls dressed in their princess gowns, and Rapunzel was there to sing songs and play games!

On July 4th we celebrated Grandma's birthday with a barbecue, then went to Baker Park in Frederick for the fireworks.  It was a late night!

This morning we went hiking at Scott's Run - an easy trail with a Potomac River overlook and a great view of the Difficult Run waterfall. It was humid and sticky but a beautiful morning to spend in the woods none the less.
