11 Months Old!

Ian is 11 months old today!

At 11 months, Ian:
- wears sizes 6-12 and 12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
- eats 3 meals and one snack a day of table food. His favorites are macaroni and cheese, peas, bananas, and puffs of course.
- drinks his formula from a sippy cup, but hasn't yet figured out how to use a straw.
- has four teeth.
- knows how to nest objects together.

Several people have asked us what Ian wants for his birthday. He doesn't need warm weather clothes, but he will need clothes in sizes 12-18 months for the Fall. As for toys, he loves to push toys around when he crawls, knock over block towers, and put smaller objects inside of larger ones. He also loves to push buttons that make noise or light up, and he loves shakers, drums, and anything else he can bang on to make noise. Board books and music are also good options, as well as toys to play outdoors. There are plenty of suggestions in his wish list (link at the top right corner of this page).

Ian's favorite thing to do outside on the porch is to peek through the railings and watch the dogs play in the yard.

Trip to St. Louis - Part 2

On the Sunday night of our trip, Grandma and Grandpa babysat Ian while we went out to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. We went to Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse inside the newest casino River City. This is a photo of our first course - the St. Louis Blue Salad. It's fancy.

We had no luck at either the gambling tables (Joe somehow forgot to bet on his only child's birthday and, of course, it hit on the roulette wheel) or the bar (my cosmopolitan was terrible).

Memorial Day Monday was another pool party and picnic at Aunt Janet and Uncle Tim's. Ian enjoyed the pool again, and some play time with Grandpa, but Joe and I stayed dry due to sunburns from the day before.

Ian met lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, great-aunts, and second-cousins, and after a tiring day he got a bath in Grandma's kitchen sink before bed.
