Cox Farms Fall Festival

Every year we look forward to the Fall Festival at Cox Farms.  Ian loves the slides and their kettle corn is the best around.  Ian had a big day yesterday with swim class and a trip to the Leesburg Air Show with his Dad (he was not a fan - too loud), so he wasn't his normal cheerful self today but we still had fun.

The slides are the best part.

We also met some goats.

Ian and his friend Bud had a great time!

Best picture of the day, and one of my favorites of Mia.

A Few Recent Photos

This one was taken a few weeks ago at a birthday party for one of Ian's friends.  Mia was so proud of herself and thought the "stump seat" was hilarious.

Ian got M&Ms as a potty training reward today.  Here he is with his chocolate face.

Ocean City 2012

Last week we made our 3rd annual trip to Ocean City.  The weather was a little cool so we didn't do a lot of swimming, but the kids enjoyed playing in the sand.

Mia didn't like the sand at first, but she did decide it tasted pretty good.

Ian was terrified of the ocean and wouldn't go anywhere near it without some coercion and the promise of water for his dump truck.

One afternoon we went to a bay side restaurant with a play area for the kids.

Ian's favorite part of the week was mini golf.  We played two different courses and on the very last hole he got a real hole in one all by himself!

In this picture he is making his pirate face since this hole was inside a pirate ship.

Of course, no beach trip is complete without some Thrasher's french fries on the boardwalk.

Big Week for Ian

Ian had a very busy week last week.  On Monday he moved to a new classroom at school.  He has a new teacher and gets to eat his meals and snacks in the cafeteria.

On Tuesday he got to leave school early for a concert with Daddy.  They went to Wolf Trap to see The Fresh Beat Band.  I packed them a picnic basket full of snacks, and Ian had fun dancing to the music.

On Wednesday, Ian started up his science classes again.  This week they learned about dinosaurs, and the word of the day was "carnivore."  On Friday, Ian got to leave school early again for an afternoon at the pool with Mommy.  He loves to go under the water with his goggles.

Saturday Grandma watched Mia while we took Ian to Nationals Park to see the Cardinals and the Nationals play baseball.  It was an exciting game and the Cardinals won!  Ian was mostly interested in the cotton candy.

On Sunday Ian went to his best friend Miguel's birthday party at The Little Gym.  All of his friends from school were there and they had a great time jumping and eating pizza and cake.

10 Months

Mia is 10 months old!  To celebrate her "birthday" she got her first taste of pizza.

Mia has outgrown most of her 9-month clothes and is now wearing size 6-12m.  She loves to feed herself, and will eat almost anything we give her (yesterday she had a BBQ chicken quesadilla for lunch), but blueberries and avocados are still her favorite.  She pulls herself up to a stand on anything and everything that will support her, and is "cruising" around with help.  Her hair is really starting to grow, and she has 4 teeth (two on the top and two on the bottom).
