Growing Up

There are lots of changes going on around here this week.  Starting Saturday, Ian will be in the next level at his swim class and he'll be in the pool without us.  He got some goggles to get ready, but he's not too sure how he feels about them yet.  We'll test them in the bath tub tomorrow.

Mia got her first two teeth this week (bottom center), and she also decided she's done with baby food and bottles.  She'd much rather feed herself and hold her own sippy cup.  This happened mostly by accident when she got hold of Ian's water cup, gulped it down, and has refused to go back ever since.  She'll start eating school food this week, too.

9 Months!

Mia is 9 months old today!  She's changed a lot in the last month, and her personality is really starting to emerge.  She didn't want to sit still long enough for a photo - I guess the camera was just too interesting.

At 9 months, Mia:

• weighs 17lb 7oz (27th percentile) and measures 27.5 inches (49th percentile).
• is quickly growing out of her size 9m clothes, but size 6-12m fits well.
• is starting to get some hair, but still doesn't have any teeth.
• loves to feed herself.  She eats 3 7oz bottles of formula, 2-3 meals of baby food or table food, and 2 snacks a day.
• crawls with her tummy off the floor.
• pulls herself up to a stand.
• holds her breath until her face turns red when she's mad.  (she's gonna be trouble.)
